The judicial prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Jorge Pizarro, has announced the suspension of Minister Diego Simpertigue for two months, effective December 9, 2025. This action comes as part of a disciplinary investigation tied to his alleged involvement in the ongoing corruption network known as the «Belarusian Plot.»

The decision, made within the maximum timeframe permitted, follows a statement provided by Minister Simpertigue, who was on vacation, to the investigating prosecutor yesterday, as noted in the official statement from the Judicial Power.

As reported by El Ciudadano, Minister Simpertigue is currently under scrutiny by the prosecutor’s office, which has launched a formal investigation to trace his travels and connections related to the «Belarusian Plot.» This investigation revolves around potential corrupt acts within the Judicial Power, which may have resulted in significant financial loss to the state-owned company Codelco.
