Supreme Court Approves Formal Charges Against Former Prosecutor Guerra in Connection to Hermosilla

The Supreme Court confirmed on Wednesday, February 11, the ruling that accepted the lawsuit against former prosecutor Manuel Guerra, who is under investigation for aggravated bribery, violation of secrets, and administrative misconduct due to his connections with Piñera and Chadwick’s lawyer, Luis Hermosilla.

In a unanimous decision (case role 1.398-2026), the Second Chamber of the highest court upheld the ruling contested by Guerra’s defense, issued by the Santiago Court of Appeals, which established that there is sufficient evidence at this procedural stage to declare the action against the former metropolitan regional prosecutor acceptable.

With this ruling, the Public Ministry is authorized to proceed with the formal charges against Manuel Guerra in the context of the so-called «Audio Case».
