Original article: Jeannette Jara: Me llama la atención que nadie le pregunte a Kast por la participación de su asesor Jorge Quiroz en la colusión de los pollos
In a recent interview with Radio Cooperativa, presidential candidate Jeannette Jara expressed her surprise that no one is questioning Kast about the involvement of his economic advisor, Jorge Quiroz, in the so-called «chicken collusion» scandal.
«Even though Kast repeats ten times that it is not true, and avoids the questions posed to him, the fact is that both in the chicken case and in the pharmacies case (…) it was determined that Jorge Quiroz was involved in the collusion, which was stated by the Competition Court,» the former minister reiterated.
«Then Kast is asked about free competition, and he says ‘I will respect it,’ so there is a contradiction here. I want to be clear: it catches my attention that nobody asks him this. If nobody is going to ask it, I will have to say it myself,» Jara added.
The candidate recalled that in the chicken collusion case, Jorge Quiroz «was part of the collusion model, as stated by the Competition Court. And in the case of medications, he defended one of the pharmacies, claiming that ‘there are no indications of corruption in this market,’ but corruption did exist, and this was confirmed by the courts of justice,» emphasized Jeannette Jara.
