In just one year, President Donald Trump’s wealth is estimated to have increased by between 1.4 and 4 billion dollars, a phenomenon that various media outlets and observers deem unparalleled in the history of the United States.

According to calculations by the New York Times, Trump has garnered over 1.4 billion dollars during the first year of his second term. This figure pales in comparison to estimates from the New Yorker, which suggests his wealth has already surpassed 4 billion dollars.

Experts suggest that a significant portion of Trump’s financial gain comes from profiting off donations in exchange for governmental measures and contracts, issuing pardons to criminals, and engaging in business with foreign governments and companies.

«A year ago, Trump vowed to serve the American people. Instead, he has focused on using the presidency to enrich himself,» noted the New York Times in one of its editorials this year, as cited by the Mexican outlet La Jornada.

In this context, it was pointed out that, surprisingly, the National Review, a long-established conservative magazine founded by right-wing thinker William F. Buckley, published a five-part series on how Trump is «monetizing the presidency» of the country.

Among other examples, National Review mentions Changpeng Zhao, the founder of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency company, who helped launch the Trump family company (World Financial Liberty) just before Trump took office.

«In 2023, Zhao pleaded guilty to money laundering charges, but nine months after his return to the White House, Trump pardoned his associate,» the American magazine highlighted.
