In sharp contrast to Kast's systematic absence from debates and the evident lack of political clarity demonstrated at ARCHI, Jara's campaign showcases unprecedented grassroots support: 20,000 volunteers organized to contest every vote in the December 14 runoff.

Jeannette Jara’s Campaign Marks a Milestone with 20,000 Volunteers as Election Day Approaches

The presidential campaign of Jeannette Jara has reached a critical turning point, boasting 20,000 registered volunteers ready to mobilize in the final stretch leading up to the second round of elections. This historic figure not only reflects citizen support but also highlights a political mobilization strategy that stands in stark contrast to the low-profile approach adopted by José Antonio Kast in recent weeks.

The surge in volunteer numbers has been remarkable. Following the first round of voting, the campaign started with only a few thousand volunteers; within just two days, that figure rose to 8,000. Without extravagant announcements, the count continued to climb steadily, hitting the milestone of 20,000, surpassing previous records from second-round campaigns in Chile.

This growth occurs amidst an electoral climate that remains uncertain, despite the center-left candidate’s strong performance in the Metropolitan Region and across much of the country.

Meanwhile, José Antonio Kast has avoided participating in all televised debate panels following the first round, limiting his public appearances significantly. However, he could not sidestep the ARCHI debate, which he was obligated to attend due to prior commitments. There, Jeannette Jara confronted him directly regarding his failure to provide clear positions, often responding with vague statements that created discomfort among the journalists present.

The repercussions were immediate: social media erupted with criticism directed at the Republican candidate for his lack of preparation and his tendency to deflect questions toward attacks on the government, while favorable comments for Jara continued to grow steadily.

Alongside this digital momentum, Jara’s volunteers took to the streets with a straightforward yet effective strategy: each supporter encourages another to join as a volunteer or to commit their vote. The goal is to ensure that key proposals—including the Vital Income of $750,000, technological boundaries, reductions in electricity costs, and the Zero Sum Housing Program—reach every corner of the country.

With less than a week until the election on December 14, the campaign emphasizes that this grassroots movement could solidify the advantage gained in the first round and realize the «1+1» slogan: convincing one more person to secure a historic victory.
