Valparaíso Regional Government Allocates Over $35 Million for Development Projects Across Eight Provinces
An extensive portfolio of development projects was approved on Monday, May 18, by the Valparaíso Regional Government.
Following a vote by the Regional Council, initiatives covering all eight provinces of the region received approval, totaling an investment of over 35 billion pesos.
These initiatives primarily focus on areas such as road paving, health, security, water supply, public space recovery, sports facilities, safety measures, and renewable energy innovation.
Regional Governor Rodrigo Mundaca highlighted that among the projects «related to water, health, sports, and public space recovery, there is a regional initiative that will be executed by Indespa with support from Junaeb, which involves the repair of the most important barge of the Rapa Nui community.»
«We have prioritized where the residents of the Valparaíso region need it the most today,» added the regional authority.
Project Details
Reviewing the projects by province, the list includes the replacement of the Municipal Stadium in Calle Larga, in the Province of San Felipe, with an investment of over 4 billion pesos; the construction of a rural drinking water system in the commune of Nogales, in the Province of Quillota, costing 93 million pesos; and the improvement of the road circuit in the commune of El Tabo, in the Province of San Antonio, with an investment exceeding 1 billion pesos.
Resources were also approved for enhancements to the Intersporting Sports Club in the commune of Putaendo, in the Province of San Felipe, totaling 530 million pesos; electrical installations normalization and universal accessibility at El Salvador Hospital in Valparaíso (featured image), costing 120 million pesos; the construction of the Llui Lliu rural medical post in the commune of Limache, Province of Marga Marga, for 1.8 billion pesos; and the aforementioned repair of the Rano Kau barge for Rapa Nui, costing 1.6 billion pesos.
In terms of health, the initiatives include enabling the angiograph for endovascular and hybrid surgeries for the Valparaíso – San Antonio Health Service, as well as comprehensive improvements to Rural Health Services in Quebrada Alvarado, Cajón Grande, and Villa La Campana in the commune of Olmué.
In security, improvements are planned for the facilities and security system of the Limache Closed Center, while an innovative initiative focuses on strategic analysis of artisanal fishing for productive innovation across the region.
The approved portfolio encompasses a total of 49 projects, 42 of which are funded through the National Regional Development Fund (FNDR), with an investment surpassing 30 billion pesos, while the remaining 7 projects pertain to conservation efforts.
