Original article: «No se puede confiar en el ministro Quiroz»: Diputados cuestionan a titular de Hacienda como «interlocutor válido» del Gobierno
Dissatisfaction continues to rise among opposition members regarding the performance of Finance Minister Jorge Quiroz in managing the «national reconstruction» project in Congress. For many, the State Secretary is already seen as an interlocutor who is «not valid» and someone who «does not inspire confidence».
«If this project reached the Senate, it was because Minister Quiroz made unfulfilled commitments with the People’s Party, involving projects that were dead on arrival and no one wants to process,» recalled Frente Amplio Deputy Jorge Brito.
«As a result, we do not understand how anyone still trusts the promises of Minister Quiroz. He has not fulfilled his commitments to mayors or to the People’s Party, let alone to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs),» the legislator emphasized.
A similar stance was echoed by PPD President Deputy Raúl Soto, who, following a failed agreement between Minister Quiroz and three senators from his party, stated in an interview with Radio Duna that «you cannot trust Finance Minister Jorge Quiroz. I believe he has acted in bad faith.»
«I have personally communicated to Ministers Alvarado and García-Ruminot the deep discontent of the PPD with the government, particularly regarding the role played by Jorge Quiroz, in whom I believe no one can trust,» the opposition legislator reiterated.
According to the PPD leader, the Finance Minister «is no longer a valid interlocutor for either the opposition or the political world. We believe he is creating a problem for his own government.»
It is important to note that the «national reconstruction» project promoted by President Kast will be debated and voted on in the Senate on Wednesday, July 15.
