A shocking case of animal abuse was uncovered in an apartment building in Ñuñoa, after security cameras captured a man violently assaulting a Pitbull puppy inside an elevator.

The footage shows the man kicking and then punching the animal. It was the building’s janitor who reported the incident, which initiated a process to remove the puppy and ensure its safety.

After reviewing the evidence, the Public Prosecutor’s Office ordered that the puppy be placed under the municipality’s care while the investigation proceeds to clarify the events and determine any criminal responsibilities.

Animal Abuse Caught on Elevator Camera: Puppy Receives Veterinary Care

Following the rescue, the puppy was taken to a veterinary center for injury assessment. According to the municipality’s report, the evaluation revealed mild contusions, prompting imaging tests and pain management medication.

«The puppy will remain at the Municipal Canine Rescue Center, where it will receive veterinary care, supervision, and follow-up during its recovery. This facility also rehabilitates dogs that have suffered abandonment or abuse, with the goal of eventually matching them with responsible families,» stated an announcement on the Ñuñoa municipality’s website.
