The Senate’s TV channel is facing intense criticism after promoting an interview with Senator Camila Flores (RN), who is currently under investigation for alleged tax fraud related to the «Flores fee» case.

The publication quickly garnered hundreds of comments on social media. On Instagram, many users expressed dismay over giving a platform to a parliamentarian facing serious allegations, with comments highlighting how such actions erode public trust in Congress.

«It is unacceptable to invite Camila Flores, who is under investigation and has even faced scrutiny from the Senate’s ethics committee. This is truly ridiculous, irresponsible, and a complete disrespect to the public,» read one comment.

Another user questioned, «What message are you trying to send? Does this mean Congress representatives can act without consequences? This is how trust in institutions is lost; you are undermining democracy!»

One comment suggested that, «In any public position, one would be suspended during an investigation; this should be the minimum response, and her votes should be barred in any committee.»
