Electoral Filibuster in Latin America: Marlon Ochoa Links Cerimedo to Audio Tapes Discussing Vote Manipulation and Stopping Recounts in Honduras

Marlon Ochoa, the former advisor to the National Electoral Council (CNE) of Honduras, reiterated his allegations regarding irregularities in the 2025 general elections, claiming to have provided Attorney General Johel Zelaya with a series of audio recordings featuring Fernando Cerimedo, a political operative from the Latin American far-right and advisor to the National Party, discussing the manipulation of votes and the scrutiny process.

«Cerimedo is an international criminal and an electoral pirate in Latin America,» he declared in a message shared on his social media, referring to the Argentine consultant who is currently detained in Bolivia, where he is facing four charges, including attempted femicide against his ex-partner Nadia Beller, money laundering, domestic violence, and alleged cover-ups involving drug trafficking flights.

He suggested that the files submitted to the prosecutor could prove how the Honduran right, through the Liberal Party and the administration of former U.S. President Donald Trump, manipulated the elections to advance the current presidency of the conservative Nasry Asfura.

He specified that the recordings identify Cerimedo’s voice stating that they inserted votes for Nasry Asfura in specific ballots; removed unfavorable votes; aligned the Armed Forces; and instructed them to reject a recount of votes.

Ochoa recalled that although the Public Ministry announced investigations and requested an expert opinion from the Public Ministry of Colombia, a ruling from the Supreme Court of Justice ordered the suspension of these processes following a request from CNE advisors Cossette López and Ana Paola Hall.

He also criticized the CNE declaration that proclaimed Asfura the winner of the presidential election, arguing that not all election records were counted, nor were disputes processed, violating the rights of candidates for mayor and deputy.

Ochoa additionally accused the National Congress of having subjected him to political trial and expelled him from the CNE due to his presented allegations, stressing that this decision was supported by the National and Liberal parties.

«The National Congress, in its attempt to cover up this series of crimes that I, as a Principal Advisor, reported, condemned me with an ‘inquisition trial’ through the votes of the National and Liberal Parties and expelled me from the CNE to subject me to a vile persecution by the new prosecutor and the bipartite court,» he stated.

In closing, he asserted that he continues to be the target of death threats and held the accused sectors responsible for any attacks against his physical integrity, questioning decisions related to the National Electric Energy Company (ENEE) and demanding that Fernando Cerimedo face justice in Honduras.

«Cerimedo is an international criminal, an electoral pirate in Latin America, sheltered under the mantle of Donald Trump’s impunity, and he has the audacity to sail like a pirate in our countries. However, since there is no perfect crime, he is already imprisoned in Bolivia, just as the current power thieves and assassins of democracy in Honduras: the National Party and their ally, the Liberal Party, who continue to act with impunity and are now privatizing ENEE,» Ochoa affirmed.

«There is nothing hidden between heaven and earth,» he emphasized.

It is worth mentioning that a series of leaked audios from conversations via WhatsApp, Signal, and Telegram uncovered a political interference and corruption operation in Honduras, involving President Nasry Asfura, Congress leader Tomás Zambrano, electoral advisor Cosette López-Osorio, Vice President María Antonieta Mejía, and former President Juan Orlando Hernández, who was pardoned by Donald Trump after being sentenced to 45 years in prison for drug trafficking.

This revelation stemmed from an investigation by Diario Red and Hondurasgate, which brought to light the attempt to ensure Hernández’s return to the presidency, with Trump’s backing and the support of sectors linked to Israel.

The scheme revealed a political and economic coordination aimed at eliminating internal resistances, conditioning institutions, and reorganizing the control of the Honduran State.
