The polling firm Criteria released the results of its latest study, which examined public perception of the performance of legislators, revealing that Gustavo Gatica (Independent) is at the forefront with a leading positive evaluation.

The Agenda Criteria survey, conducted on June 25, 2026, evaluated legislators with over 30% public awareness, and Gatica emerged as the politician with the highest number of favorable opinions, achieving 63% positive or very positive responses.

It is noteworthy that the psychologist from the Universidad Academia de Humanismo Cristiano was elected on November 16, 2025, as a legislator for the Republic representing district 8, with over 94,000 votes, achieving the third highest national vote in parliamentary elections.

The study, conducted through an online panel, also inquired about the public awareness of the 20 highest-voted legislators nationwide, where Gatica achieved a 34% recognition rate.

Recently, the legislator has publicly denounced cuts, proposed by the Government, and the potential discontinuation of essential programs related to the National Disability Service (Senadis) and Primary Health Care (APS).

Additionally, he has criticized La Moneda for using reconstruction as a facade for aflawed tax reform, pushed with undue urgency and without dialogue.

51% Disapprove of Kast’s Administration

The latest Criteria survey also addressed public perceptions regarding President José Antonio Kast, indicating that his approval rating remains at 39%, for the third consecutive week.

The survey also assessed Kast’s approval over the past four weeks. When asked: «Regardless of your political stance, do you approve or disapprove of how José Antonio Kast is leading his
government?», 39% responded supporting his management, reflecting a 6 percentage point decrease compared to the average during the first four weeks of his presidency, when he recorded 45%.

The survey further indicated that the level of disapproval for the far-right president remains unchanged from the previous measurement, standing at 51%, while 10% of respondents stated they «don’t know».
