How to Spot Misinformation in the Age of AI? Migrant Journalists Network and Latin American Refuge Invite You to a Virtual Workshop

Identifying and addressing misinformation regarding migration while providing communication tools is the goal of the virtual workshop «How to Spot Misinformation in the Age of Artificial Intelligence? Critical Tools and Narratives about Migration in the Digital Context», organized by the Migrant Journalists Network and Latin American Refuge.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday, May 20, at 6:30 PM in Chile and 7:30 PM in Argentina, aiming to enhance the skills necessary to counter the prevailing narratives in a media landscape characterized by hate speech, digital polarization, and artificial intelligence.

This session is specially intended for migrant communities, journalists, communicators, influencers, advocates for human rights, workers, students, researchers, educators, and anyone interested in narratives about migration.

Guided by Nairbis Sibrian (Migrant Journalists Network), Verónica Georges, and Maximiliano Mendoza (Latin American Refuge), the workshop will cover how to identify misinformation, understand the impact of artificial intelligence on its spread, and learn verification tools and communication strategies from a community-centered and intercultural perspective.
