Original article: Investigación revela que EEUU difunde propaganda del Pentágono en América Latina a través de medios generados por IA
An investigation published by the American outlet The Intercept has uncovered that the United States government is spreading Pentagon propaganda in Latin America using «media» generated by Artificial Intelligence.
The report highlights the case of the platform La Tilde, which shows «clear indications of being generated by AI» in several of its videos and images. In a small link titled ‘About Us’, it states that «La Tilde is a product of an international media organization funded with public money from the Government of the United States».
According to The Intercept, this portal «began quietly developing earlier this year and appears to still be in the creation phase. It presents itself as a modern media brand for the Latin American audience, with articles published in both Spanish and English. Its name refers to the accent that emphasizes vowels in Spanish; its slogan is ‘news with an accent’.»
«So far, La Tilde’s coverage consists of an unusual mix of personal finance advice and articles extolling the value of US military operations in Latin America,» the investigation adds, analyzing the recent report on the «Operation Absolute Resolve» which captured Maduro in Venezuela.
The platform’s article on the abduction of the Venezuelan President by the United States praises the mission with Trump-like prose, characterizing it as ‘the perfect operation: coordination, synchronization, and precision on an unprecedented scale’ and ‘a military operation of coordination and precision never before seen,’” according to The Intercept publication.
Continuing, the report states that «citing information obtained exclusively by La Tilde, it describes the tactical brilliance of the operation, its flawless execution, and the incredible precision in the coordination of military resources both in the air and on land».
«If this sounds like a Pentagon press release, it’s because it is,» emphasizes the report, which you can read in full HERE.
