Water Supply Disruption for 36 Hours Announced in Eight Communes of the Metropolitan Region
Aguas Andinas has announced a scheduled water supply interruption lasting 36 hours, affecting eight communes in the Metropolitan Region, starting at 8:00 PM this Friday, May 22.
The company indicated that service restoration is expected to begin at 8:00 AM on Sunday, May 24.
«Today, we announced a temporary, planned suspension in parts of southern Metropolitan Region, necessary to advance the modernization of critical infrastructure that serves millions of people,» the company explained via social media.
«We are renovating one of the main aqueducts in the Metropolitan Region to further strengthen our drinking water distribution network, which exceeds 13,000 kilometers,» the company’s statement added, noting that «these works will benefit approximately 143,000 clients.»
As part of the contingency plan, Aguas Andinas reported that they will provide alternative supply points and water trucks located in various sectors of the communes affected by the interruption, which include El Bosque, La Cisterna, La Florida, La Granja, La Pintana, San Bernardo, San Miguel, and San Ramón.
