Following the revelation of a «bot farm» operated by the Latin American right-wing figure Fernando Cerimedo, Congressman Juan Santana (PS) stated he will request Servel to clarify whether Cerimedo’s company, Numen, received payments for Chilean campaigns.
The advisor to ultra-right figures such as Javier Milei in Argentina, Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, Rodrigo Paz in Bolivia, and Nasry Asfura in Honduras is currently detained in Bolivia, facing charges for the attempted femicide of his ex-partner, Nadia Beller.
During a raid of a residence in an upscale area of La Paz, which Bolivian prosecutors report was occupied by Cerimedo, authorities discovered the equivalent of $50,000 in bolivianos, dollars, and euros, as well as a bot farm used to generate thousands of social media messages through accounts artificially created by consultants; there were around 50,000 of these accounts that, in a May 2023 interview with Infobae, he admitted were operational in Argentina, alongside others used in Chile.
In a message shared on social media, Congressman Santana recalled that in July 2025, Evelyn Matthei, the then-presidential candidate of Chile Vamos, reported being targeted by bots who falsely attributed a dementia diagnosis to her, and even announced a lawsuit against the Republican Party.
«In September, a report identified several of these accounts, including one named Neuroc, and we, the PS deputies, submitted the evidence to the Prosecutor’s Office,» noted the lawmaker.
He also suggested that just when Fernando Cerimedo was arrested in Bolivia and authorities there raided a house he occupied, where they claim to have found a bot farm,—which his defense denies—»during those same days, Neuroc disappeared from X.»
Santana further reminded that it is documented that Cerimedo’s company, Numen, operated in Chile promoting the «Rejection» option during the 2022 constitutional plebiscite.
In fact, during the same May 2023 interview with Infobae, while advising Javier Milei, the political operative acknowledged: «Last year, I spent my time traveling because I was working for the campaign against the new Constitution proposal in Chile.»
The congressman also pointed out that it was Milei’s own digital team that publicly stated that Cerimedo also «worked» on the campaigns of current Chilean President José Antonio Kast.
In light of this situation, he argued that since the ultra-right president condemned digital harassment against journalists, «there should be no issue in making this transparent.»
«I will request Servel to inform whether Numen or its related companies appear in any election expenditure reports in Chile, and what powers they currently have to oversee digital services that a campaign contracts abroad,» he announced.
However, he indicated that he suspects «the answer to the latter is none, and that is the fundamental problem we must resolve.»
