In a recent announcement, Chilean Customs reported a 3% increase in tax revenue during the first nine months of 2026, compared to the same period in 2025, surpassing $13.7 billion this year.

The information is derived from the indicators released by the National Customs Service, documented in its monthly Foreign Trade Compendium.

Specifically, it was detailed that from January to September, accumulated revenues reached $13,703.2 million, compared to $13,306.5 million recorded in the same period of 2025, representing a positive year-on-year difference of $397.4 million.

The entity indicated that this amount «equates to the construction of 50 hospitals similar to the Marga Marga Provincial Hospital in the Valparaíso Region (with an investment of 255 billion pesos).»

«The accumulated result was primarily driven by tax revenue, totaling $13,228.6 million and accounting for 96.5% of the total. Meanwhile, tariff duties contributed $474.5 million, equivalent to 3.5% of revenues,» the Customs report explained.

These results occur within the context of Chile’s foreign trade, which saw a 23.7% increase in exports for the January-September 2026 period, totaling $99,867.1 million. Meanwhile, imports for the same period amounted to $68,449.4 million, growing by 6% compared to the same nine months of 2025.

September Marks the Highest Revenue Month of the Year

In September 2026, revenue reached $1,725.8 million, exceeding the amount recorded in September 2025 by $194 million, which was $1,531.8 million. The year-on-year variation for the month was 12.7%.

The September result also constitutes the highest monthly total recorded for the current year. It is followed by July at $1,668.8 million; April at $1,554.7 million; and August at $1,541.1 million.

«These results are part of the ongoing monitoring conducted by the National Customs Service regarding revenues linked to foreign trade, a significant indicator for analyzing import operations and their contribution to tax revenues,» concluded the public agency.
