Original article: El Ciudadano y Cheil son premiados en FIAP 2026 por campaña Epstein Faces
El Ciudadano and Cheil Chile have achieved yet another international accolade, as their collaborative campaign «Epstein’s Faces» was recognized at the 2026 FIAP Awards (Ibero-American Creativity Festival, previously known as the Ibero-American Advertising Festival).
The FIAP Awards are among the most prestigious creativity competitions in Ibero-America, celebrated for awarding advertising excellence since 1969.
Specifically, the campaign «Epstein’s Faces» received three awards. It secured silver in the Production / Graphic Production Techniques – Art Direction category, while also earning bronze awards in the categories of Print / Campaigns (Products / Services / Corporate) and Print / Media Publications.

FIAP Awards organizers noted that the files related to billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein were released under absurd censorship, revealing the names of victims instead of perpetrators, and that “thousands of words” were “blacked out” to conceal the truth.

“El Ciudadano, the only Chilean newspaper with global reach, dedicated to press and information freedom, turned this censorship into a graphic denunciation campaign,” they stated.
The awarded campaign was developed by a team led by Felipe Ortiz, Chief Creative Officer of Cheil Chile, along with Javier Monroy, Claudia Guajardo, Felipe Mora, and a diverse group of creatives, art directors, copywriters, and producers.
The Highlighted Idea
The Epstein files were released under strict censorship, with thousands of words blacked out by bold black bars that, rather than clarify, reinforced the feeling that a significant part of the truth remained hidden from the public eye.
The concept is as simple as it is powerful: each of those censorship bars was cut out and reused to create portraits. What was originally used in the documents to cover names, fragments, and sensitive information, here takes on a new meaning and transforms into a visual denunciation of those involved.
The result is four portraits of individuals linked to Epstein: Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Prince Andrew, and Donald Trump. In each case, the image emerges precisely from what was covered, erased, or blacked out. El Ciudadano also called for the inclusion of Peter Thiel.
“With this campaign, we aim to truthfully portray the vital role of a medium like El Ciudadano in journalism and in our society. We wanted to reflect meticulous, analog work and the significant time invested in creating each of these pieces, as we believe that this is the true work that journalists and investigators conduct, especially on such impactful and sensitive topics as those related to the Epstein Files,” Javier Monroy commented.
New Recognition for ‘Epstein’s Faces’
The three awards given at the 2026 FIAP Awards add to the Silver Award (Torre de Plata) that the campaign received in mid-June at the prestigious New York Festivals Advertising Awards 2026.
On that occasion, ‘Epstein’s Faces’ competed in the Print: Products & Services – Entertainment/Media category, representing Chile and placing El Ciudadano among the standout campaigns in the international creative industry. According to the festival’s official record, the piece was noted for its graphic and narrative proposal linked to the Epstein case.
