Investigation Launched by PDI into Members of ‘La Cofradía’ Following Disturbing Video: Actions Requested by Prosecutor’s Office

The media outlet Contrapoder Chile reported on Wednesday, August 5, that the PDI has received an order from the Public Ministry to investigate Emiliano Fernández, Ítalo Omegna, Marcelo Anabalón, and Fernando Ortíz, members of the group known as ‘La Cofradía,’ for their abhorrent remarks regarding child sexual abuse.

According to the investigative team from the mentioned outlet, the PDI’s Sexual Crimes Brigade (Brisexme) was directed by the Gender Prosecutor’s Office to investigate the individuals following a complaint filed against those featured in the video.

In particular, the National Autism Federation (Fenaut) filed the complaint with the Eastern Prosecutor’s Office, which does not specify the exact criminal charge but targets the members of La Cofradía shown in the recording. The accused mock child sexual abuse, even giving ‘advice’ on how to approach children on the Autism Spectrum sexually.
