A report from La Tercera indicates that the General Comptroller’s Office is investigating Sports Minister Natalia Ducó following a complaint regarding the inappropriate use of a government vehicle, among other issues.
According to the aforementioned source, on July 4, an external individual requested an investigation into the use of the government vehicle on April 23, a date when Minister Ducó reportedly attended a nighttime celebration unrelated to her ministerial duties using public resources.
This scenario contradicts the Decree 799 that regulates the use and circulation of state vehicles.
In this context, La Tercera claims to have obtained photographs showing the minister in a leisure setting and another of the driver covered with a blanket waiting on a terrace.
Additionally, other officials from the Ministry of Sports reportedly participated in the celebration.
Moreover, the filed complaint requests further investigation into Minister Ducó regarding the Proddar Scholarship situation. Specifically, the inquiry seeks to establish if her resignation from the sports benefit was legally justified.
«By January, she was fully aware that she would not continue in the sports world, so her resignation for this purpose should have been made, at the very least, on the same date when she was introduced as the future minister,» states the document cited by La Tercera, which also requests to determine «if the restitution of any improperly obtained funds is warranted.»
