Recreo Festival Comes to Matucana 100: The Cosmic Evolution of a Movement Redefining Electronic Culture in Chile

What began in 2018 as a cultural emergence in an abandoned school in Independencia has now solidified into the most influential ecosystem for arts and electronic music in the region.

RECREO announces its significant upcoming event at Matucana 100 (M100) this Saturday, April 4th, showcasing a sonic display that honors its history while projecting a vision for the future.

A Movement with Identity and Regional Network

Led by a trio of women (Karola Miranda, Andrea Paz, and Daniela ‘Pety’ Hinojosa), RECREO has transcended the dance floor to become a central figure in the regional scene.

By fostering connections with various South American collectives, the festival has strengthened a collaborative network that brings Latin American talent to light with a diverse, inclusive, and professional approach.

From its inception, RECREO has promoted gathering as an accelerator of ideas, reclaiming spaces, and reimagining the collective experience through iconic interventions:

• 2018: The Origin. The occupation of the school in Independencia, transforming classrooms into dance floors, marking a significant turning point in the local scene.
• Urban and Global Milestones. From interventions in the heart of La Vega Central and the iconic Dome of Parque O’Higgins to its successful international expansion with a massive event in Mexico City.
• Franklin Residency. Two months of creative occupation in a warehouse of the former slaughterhouse, integrating the Videoclip School, workshops, and a strong neighborhood connection.
• Consolidation at GAM and Physical Format. Two large editions at the Gabriela Mistral Center and the launch of its first vinyl, establishing its identity as a record label.

Matucana 100: Three Stages, Three Atmospheres

For this edition, RECREO returns to its roots of reclaiming unconventional spaces, transforming M100 into an epicenter of «cosmic psychology» and fractal rhythms.

The experience will be divided into three stages, each designed with its own atmosphere and narrative to guide the audience through varying sound intensities:

1. Stage Mars: Raw energy and high-intensity rhythms.
2. Stage Venus: Enveloping atmospheres, harmony, and melodic exploration.
3. Stage Saturn: The core of experimentation and deeper sounds.
