The Plaza de Armas in Talca will serve as the gathering spot for readers, authors, athletes, and families during a new edition of the Sports Book Fair, FELIDE 2026, scheduled from November 6 to 8, with free admission.

Organized by the Regional Government of Maule and the Center for Sports Studies (CEDEP), this event will feature more than 20 exhibitors, including publishers, sports companies, institutions, and organizations related to sports, education, and culture.

Throughout the three-day event, attendees can enjoy book presentations, discussions with authors, interactive activities, and sports exhibitions. The program will cater to children, youth, and adults, offering experiences that delve into sports stories and invite participation in various expressions of the field.

Chess, the Featured Sport

Chess will take center stage as the featured sport of this edition, prominently featured in the program through the International Chess Festival, which includes three competitions: ShePlays, an exclusive event for women; an open championship; and an interschool tournament.

The program will also feature the FESTIGOL film cycle, with screenings in the auditorium of the Regional Government of Maule. Additionally, the well-known tourist bus Talca, Paris, and London will offer historical tours, inviting visitors to discover the city from a new perspective.

Over the course of the three days, audiences will also enjoy musical performances, sports exhibitions, and an infographic display dedicated to the history of Olympic sports and Rangers of Talca, expanding the invitation to learn about and appreciate the cultural and sporting heritage.

FELIDE aims to promote reading and bring sports closer to the community from a social, cultural, and heritage perspective. Through books and activities, the fair invites attendees to learn about its protagonists, recover their memories, and reflect on values such as perseverance, teamwork, and inclusion.
