The Cuban government praised the approval of the Country Program for 2026-2030 by the Executive Board of the World Food Program (WFP), achieved despite maneuvers attributed to the United States aimed at preventing this crucial UN food assistance from continuing in the island.

«A resounding victory for #Cuba at @WFP against #US maneuvers to block food aid to the Cuban people from the United Nations,» stated Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez on social media platform X, as reported by Chinese agency Xinhua.

The foreign minister emphasized that despite the «enormous and spurious pressures,» the US was left «isolated» within the Executive Board of the UN body, which approved the program to maintain cooperation with the island for the period of 2026-2030, allocating $116 million for the food security of the population.
