Original article: Tras indagatoria de Contraloría: Activista venezolana Lucy Depablos decidió renunciar al gobierno de Kast
Following a request for documentation by the Contraloría amid questions surrounding her hiring, right-wing Venezuelan activist Lucy Depablos (pictured) has chosen to resign from her position as head of communications at the Civil Service, under the Ministry of Finance.
It is important to note that the auditing body had requested this Service to submit all academic documentation justifying Depablos’ employment in this role, despite her lacking the relevant degree, as reported by El Ciudadano and other national outlets such as Contrapoder Chile.
The news of Depablos’ resignation was announced by Radio Biobío. The station cited the political scientist’s resignation letter, in which she indicated that «in recent days she faced particularly challenging public scrutiny.»
«The letter adds that her opinions and image were also used to cast doubts on the National Director and the President of the Republic,» the Biobío report further notes.
