Original article: 25 años de «Cerrado con llave»: González & Los Asistentes celebran su primer disco con 2 conciertos
Some albums never fade; they simply await rediscovery.
This is the case for «Cerrado con llave» by González & los Asistentes, a band that is returning to the stage to commemorate the 25th anniversary of this album, which established them as a pivotal reference point at the intersection of music and poetry in Chile.
The celebration will take the form of anniversary concerts where the band will perform «Cerrado con llave» in its entirety, alongside a selection of songs that reflect on their 25 years of musical evolution.
It will be a journey through the various phases of an artistic quest that crafted a unique language, where music and words don’t just accompany each other—they engage, confront, and transform one another.
In Memory of Cristian Chumale Bravo
This anniversary is particularly dedicated to Cristian Chumale Bravo, the band’s longtime bassist, who passed away on December 31, 2023.
Chumale was an essential part of González & los Asistentes throughout their career; his unique playing style and unmistakable presence on the bass became hallmarks of the group’s sonic identity.
In this new chapter, Amanda Irarrázabal takes over on bass, with Nicanor Henriquez joining on guitar.
