In a blatant violation of the conditions agreed upon during the last ceasefire renewal in April, Israel ramped up its assaults on southern and eastern Lebanon this Friday, carrying out a massacre in the Nabatieh governorate. The ceasefire, which was never fully established, has been shattered once again with bombings of densely populated areas.

The Al Mayadeen correspondent in the area confirmed that Israeli air forces directly targeted residential areas in the city of Al-Duweir, resulting in the martyrdom of seven civilians.

The dawn attacks were not confined to a single target, but rather spread across multiple towns in southern Lebanon. The brutal incursions by enemy aircraft against the populations of Harouf, Al-Sharqiyah, and Kfar Jouz left casualties and injuries of varying severity, according to initial reports from the ground.

In an act that highlights the selective nature of the aggression, an Israeli drone pursued and attacked a motorcycle traveling on the Deir Zahrani road, resulting in the rider’s death. This tactic, which combines massive bombings with surgical executions, reveals the complexity of a military strategy designed to instill terror on multiple fronts.

According to the cited media, from the early hours of the morning, the air and artillery forces of the Zionist regime unleashed systematic bombings against southern towns such as Arab Salim, Kawthariyat al-Sayyad, Tulin, Kfar Tebnit, al-Aishiya, Balat, Sajd, and Jebchit, while simultaneously launching attacks on the localities of Bani Hayyan, Sarifa, Qalawiya, and Zabdin.

Zionist Aggression Expands to Eastern Lebanon

According to Al Mayadeen, the terror campaign carried out by the occupying army expands beyond the boundaries of the southern front, advancing into eastern Lebanese territory and opening a new chapter in the war escalation. Aircraft from Benjamin Netanyahu’s regime launched missiles against the Litan river area in the locality of Zalaya in the western Bekaa, causing devastation to critical infrastructures and agricultural lands that are vital for the livelihoods of hundreds of farming families reliant on their harvests.

Additionally, the emblematic area of Baalbek, one of the most important archaeological sites in the Middle East, designated UNESCO World Heritage status in 1984, has suffered repeated air hostilities. Unmanned aerial vehicles from the occupation forces conducted direct bombings in the Tel Abyad sector, located at the northern entrance of the city, while other missiles shook the city center and the nearby population of Dours.

These coordinated attacks underline the Israeli strategy of subjecting the Lebanese territory to relentless siege, disregarding diplomatic appeals and intentionally escalating civilian casualties.

The death toll from the Israeli aggression against Lebanon exceeds 3,700 fatalities and 11,000 injuries since the start of the latest Zionist escalation. Since March 2, the Israeli army has intensified its aggression by attacking villages, towns, cities, and civil infrastructure in Lebanon.
