Las ilustraciones aparecieron tarjetas de papel en cajas de cigarrillos y cajas de puros, así como postales, en 1900. «L'An 2000», así se llama la serie, ofrece un estudio interesante de lo que es la condición humana y la percepción que podemos tener de ella. ¿Cuántos aciertos y cuántos desaciertos?

Esta serie de obras fue creada en 1899, para la Exposición Universal de París de 1900. La hizo un colectivo de artistas franceses —Jean-Marc Côté, entre ellos—. Ahora resurgió en Internet y revela impresiones fascinantes de lo que sería el año 2000, visto desde aquel entonces.
