Cross-border collaborations often leave a lasting impact, especially when friendship precedes the studio. In this spirit, «Me Voy» emerges as the latest offering from the Chilean duo Dënver, featuring a classic pop piece sung in three voices alongside Mexican artist Ruzzi, under the production of Adán Jodorowsky.

This single serves as a reflective postcard about emotional breakups and dignified farewells, setting the tone for their upcoming fifth album to be released in the second half of the year. The recording process combined sessions in Mexico with string arrangements by Emiliano Dorantes, infusing the project with vintage textures.

Coordinates of an Expansive Return

According to Milton Mahan, the collaboration with key figures from the Mexican music scene stems from years of touring and organically cultivated affinities, a sentiment echoed by Mariana Montenegro, who recalls discovering Ruzzi’s talent via the internet years ago. The result is a harmonious dialogue that balances the duo’s established trajectory with the nuances of one of the continent’s freshest voices.

“Everything was recorded in their studio […], with predominantly Mexican musicians who brought their musical colors to our idea,” details Mahan about the technical imprint of the release.

The project is complemented by a visually rich audiovisual piece, directed by Mahan himself, where the aesthetic engages with the melancholic atmosphere of the track. Far from lingering in nostalgia, the duo is preparing for a busy live performance schedule, highlighted by their appearance on September 25 at the Festival En Órbita in Santiago.
