Chilean Street Theatre Captivates Mexico: La Patriótico Interesante Continues Successful Tour
La Patriótico Interesante is currently experiencing a triumphant first phase of its tour in Mexico. The Chilean street theater company participated in the 23rd International Street Theatre Festival of Zacatecas, where they led the International Seminar on Street Theatre and Performance and showcased «My Fire, Theatrical Deliriums for Kids» at Plaza Goitía.
The festival concluded on October 17, attracting over 110,000 attendees and featuring 72 activities across nine days, as reported by Imagen Zacatecas.
«We are very happy with the reception of the show during this first phase of the tour,» stated Katiuska Valenzuela, the general producer of the company.
«Our work over the past 24 years has been about bringing art to plazas, parks, and neighborhoods, making it accessible to those who may not enter a theater, and transforming public space into a meeting point for imagination and dialogue about our societal issues. Seeing such a warm reception in Zacatecas reaffirms that our path is meaningful and gives us strength for what lies ahead,» Valenzuela added.
The production has already garnered reviews from audiences and cultural spaces. The website ROCKDARTES described it as: «A reflection on being and appearing, on the feeling between reality and the superficial expressions was the guiding thread of ‘My Fire. Theatrical Deliriums for Kids.'»

24 Years Creating in Public Spaces
Since 2002, La Patriótico Interesante has integrated street theatre, performance, and urban intervention.
Their work critically engages with the social contexts in which it occurs, inquiring about citizenship, memory, power, and representation. This is done in direct relation to communities and territories through collective creation processes, artistic residencies, mediation, and exchanges with other artists.
Through this approach, they have developed original shows, community creations, collaborations with festivals, open public showcases, national and international circulation, and connections with cultural, educational, and social organizations.
This anniversary year has been marked by two significant milestones: in January, they created Bonfire, the inaugural action presented at the Santiago Off Festival, and in September, they premiered Winter 97: The Flooded Memory, a piece created in collaboration with residents of Puente Alto.

A Production of Puppets, Music, and Inner Fire
«My Fire, Theatrical Deliriums for Kids» is a street theatre creation aimed at families. It explores the tensions between being and appearing, gender roles, expectations of success, and the primacy of reason.
Featuring paper puppets, masks, recovered objects, and live music blending electronic rhythms, samplers, ronroco, drums, and electroacoustic bass, the protagonist embarks on a quest for their inner fire and invites the audience to reflect on freedom and the ability to envision and transform the world.
La Patriótico Interesante’s tour continues in Mexico City, with an encounter featuring local artists at Cuarto de Máquinas, followed by a performance in the municipality of Morelos.
The tour will then proceed to Lerma, where they will open the «We Are All Skulls» Festival for the Day of the Dead, including performances, a puppet workshop, and encounters with artists, concluding their time in the capital with a performance and workshop at the Cultural Center of Spain in Mexico.
