«Dead God»: A Hilarious Play Exploring Gender, Ecology, and Humanity’s Response to Current Crises

The Theater Department of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Chile presents the play Dead God, a production by ReinaCaballo Teatro, written by Cristóbal Cartes and directed by Marco Espinoza Quezada.

The season will take place from June 4 to June 13, with performances from Thursday to Saturday at 7:30 PM, at the Agustín Siré Hall, located at Morandé 750, Santiago.

This work is part of a project financed by the Performing Arts Fund 2022 in the Creation and Production modality, and in 2023 in the National Circulation modality, successfully performed at Matucana 100, Teatro Mori Recoleta, and various cultural centers across different communes in the Metropolitan Region, including La Pintana, Lampa, Til Til, Lo Espejo, La Florida, and La Cisterna, among others.

Additionally, it has been presented in cities such as Ovalle, Coquimbo, Concepción, and Valparaíso.

Dead God is a theatrical production set in the Middle Ages that reflects on how humanity has distanced itself from its true nature due to the dogmas and paradigms imposed by society.

The story follows Aldreda and Jacinta, two nuns in love with each other who encounter a young magician, Merlin, and a golden alien who reveals the devastating future of humanity, leading to philosophical and existential discussions presented through a hilarious comedy.

Tickets are available at Ticketplus.cl, with prices set at $8,800 general, $5,500 for students and seniors.
