Original article: Inspirado en la vida de Ana González y Manuel Recabarren: «Y aquí sigo… un musical para recordar» vuelve en octubre a Teatro Sidarte
Over four evenings in October, Chilean musical theater reconnects with historical memory through «And Here I Am… A Musical to Remember,» from the creators of «Clavel Rojo, the Musical of Gladys Marín.»
Written and directed by Hernán Fuentes Cruz, with original music by José Bello and Mauro Platoni, the play draws inspiration from the lives of Ana González de Recabarren and Manuel Recabarren, weaving a poignant love story marked by a profound and painful conclusion.
The performances are scheduled for Wednesday, October 14; Thursday, October 15; Friday, October 16; and Saturday, October 17, all at 7:30 PM, at Teatro Sidarte, located at Ernesto Pinto Lagarrigue 131, Santiago.

Historical Backdrop
The show creates a fusion of musical theater and memory, presenting an intimate narrative that resonates with Chile’s recent history.
Through themes of love, absence, pain, and hope, the production invites the audience to reflect on the importance of preserving historical memory, honoring those who are no longer with us, and keeping the defense of human rights alive to ensure that such events never occur again.
This dimension constitutes a declared central theme of the artistic proposal. A particularly symbolic element of the staging is its backdrop, crafted from original clothing worn by Ana González de Recabarren during her lifetime.
The design further incorporates scenic elements like a trunk and a platform, embodying a proposal that combines acting, live singing, and lighting design, without the use of audiovisual projections.
The lead roles are played by Gabriela Hernández as Ana González de Recabarren and Pablo Canales as Manuel Recabarren.
They are joined by a cast that includes Gabriela Castro Barahona, Javiera Aliste, Habib de la Jara, Oscar Neculqueo, Bruno Magaña Alvarado, Luis Felipe Hidalgo, and Sofía Solís Canales, each portraying various characters and forming part of this ensemble narrative.
The production also features the work of TMD Teatro Musical, a company with 36 years of experience committed to the training, creation, and promotion of musical theater in Chile. Sound design, amplification, and microphone systems are managed by Ángel Marambio, with musical compositions by José Bello and Mauro Platoni.
