Música al Margen 2026 Reveals Selected Emerging Bands and Honors ‘Pogo’ Alongside Los Peores de Chile
The Música al Margen Festival has established itself as a significant platform for showcasing emerging bands in the Metropolitan Region, connecting fresh musical proposals with audiences and established artists.
In its 2026 edition, the festival received 124 applications, reflecting the diversity and dynamism of the independent music scene.
After a thorough selection process, the three chosen bands are Influjo, known for their blend of rock and funk; Santi Fango, associated with alternative rock; and El Cochinero, exploring instrumental progressive rock.

Professional Development
The Música al Margen Festival features a jury composed of prominent figures from the musical, artistic, and cultural spheres.
This jury includes Pedro Melo, a musician and producer who has collaborated with artists such as Joe Vasconcellos, Santaferia, and Entrama; Javier Sanfeliú, an advertising executive and creative director with experience in outlets like Radio Concierto, Radio Futuro, Radio Zero, Radio Pauta, and TVN; Juan Guillermo Carrasco, a communicator specializing in music, a collaborator with Rockaxis, Bulldozer Radio, and Musicadecolor.com, and co-founder of the agency Red Exodia; and Beto Arán, a music journalist with over 20 years of experience in media like Vía X, Rockaxis, and Los90.cl.
One of the main attractions of the competition is the prizes aimed at enhancing the professional development of the winning bands. The first place will receive recording, mixing, and mastering of three musical tracks; the second will be able to produce two singles, and the third, one.
Additionally, all awarded bands will receive a closed-circuit audiovisual recording with four cameras, material that they can use to promote their work.
Tribute to ‘Pogo’
The 2026 edition will also pay tribute to Mario ‘Pogo’ Carneyro, the historic vocalist of Los Peores de Chile, who passed away in October 2022.
As part of this tribute, the rock band influenced by the Mapuche worldview, Chaicura, will open for Los Peores de Chile, adding a proposal that links contemporary music with root rock.

Another activity planned, apart from the emerging bands competition, is the Battery Musical Clinic taught by Marcelo Arenas, a noted musician from the group Entrama.
«In this way, Música al Margen aims to strengthen the circulation of new proposals, create opportunities for emerging artists, and facilitate the encounter between musicians and audiences in Puente Alto,» the event organizers stated.
