Recent reports reveal that Samuel Valenzuela Salazar, husband of Renovación Nacional Senator María José Gatica and brother of independent deputy Daniel Valenzuela, has been appointed as the «Communication Manager» for Sercotec.

The news began circulating on social media, accompanied by a welcome graphic from the entity’s human resources department, congratulating Valenzuela and wishing him every success «in this new professional challenge».

Valenzuela is a history professor at Universidad Austral and holds a Master’s degree in Applied Political Studies from the Fundación Internacional y para Iberoamérica de Administración y Políticas Públicas (FIIAPP) in Spain. He also «pursued studies» for a Master’s in Regional Economics and Management, although the institution is not specified.

Additionally, it is noted that Valenzuela has «over 20 years of professional experience in communications and public service». His previous roles include serving as the chief of staff for former senator Carlos Larraín and as the communications officer for current senator Manuel José Ossandón.
