Two exceptional revivals that captured audiences during their initial runs are returning to the Sala la Comedia at Teatro ICTUS this November, adding to the theater’s outstanding lineup.

“Caballo,” the latest production from ICTUS, featuring the writing and direction of Emilia Noguera, is back after two sold-out seasons, this time with a refreshed cast.

Starring Maricarmen Arrigorriaga alongside Roberto Poblete, Paula Sharim, Nicolás Zárate, Moisés Angulo, and Camila Oliva, the play follows an elder woman, profoundly perplexed, who is mounted on the horse in Plaza Baquedano, waving banners of struggle that she herself does not fully comprehend.

The woman embodies the psyche of a nation caught within the turbulent historical and political events of the past seventy years.

With its agile, comedic, and surreal rhythm, Caballo captures the pain, absurdity, and collective amnesia of a country still in search of its narrative.

This production is the second from the company, following successful revivals of renowned historical plays such as Primavera con una esquina rota and Pedro, Juan y Diego.

Additionally, for the first time at ICTUS, one of the latest acclaimed productions from the young company, Teatro La Liebre, arrives with “Hombres Daga: The Night Death Pondered Over The Andes,” which premiered at the International Festival Teatro a Mil.

Founded in 2023, Teatro La Liebre is a Chilean company that explores the most unsettling aspects of our reality through intense, visual, and provocative performances.

Their productions blend theater, cinema, and memory to examine violence, bodies, and the tensions of our recent history.

With a youthful identity and a deeply contemporary perspective, La Liebre invites audiences to confront what often remains hidden.

Hombres Daga stars the renowned and award-winning national actor, Luis Dubó, (La misteriosa mirada del flamenco, Machuca, La nana, Neruda, Lobo, Pacto de fuga, Ecos del desierto), alongside Viviana Nass, Felipe Valenzuela, Camilo Yanko, Nicolás Bascuñán, Ángela Urrutia, and Katalina Urrutia, with dramaturgy by Matias Gonzalez and co-directed by both him and Angela Urrutia.

The play unfolds the story of a veteran hitman who, deep in the Andes mountain range, introduces a young apprentice to the secrets and brutalities of his trade.

Hombres Daga is the second production from Teatro La Liebre and merges cinematic language with the power of live performance to construct an unsettling thriller about contract killing, forgotten bodies, and the shadows of our country’s political past.

These two remarkable revivals highlight their casts and productions, maintaining the curation of Teatro ICTUS and calling for reflection on the construction and identity of the nation we inhabit.
