An influential album in Chilean music is celebrating its 40th anniversary. «Pateando Piedras,» the second studio album by Los Prisioneros, not only defined the latter half of the 1980s but also earned the band national recognition during a time of heightened public protests against the dictatorship.
In honor of this significant milestone, the record store and publisher Clubdefans has organized an extensive free event that blends discussions, memorabilia exhibitions, and live music, all centered around this timeless masterpiece.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, starting at 5:00 PM, located at Av. Providencia 1100, Local 21, Torres de Tajamar.
Clubdefans has revealed that Miguel Tapia, the drummer of Los Prisioneros, will be present alongside Caco Lyon, Jaqueline Fresard, Nicolás Alonso, Claudio Vergara, and Alejandro Tapia, author of the book «Ya viene la fuerza: Los Prisioneros 1980-1986,» which discusses the years leading up to the release of «Pateando Piedras.»
«On Saturday, the store will host three discussions: an interview with the band’s drummer led by journalist and researcher Alejandro Tapia; a conversation about the band’s sound and aesthetics featuring the album’s engineer and a member of Cleopatras, moderated by journalist Claudio Vergara; and a breakdown of «Pateando Piedras» song by song, with Nicolás Alonso from the podcast Necesito poder respirar and Alejandro Tapia, also moderated by Vergara,» stated representatives from the store.
«We couldn’t miss the chance to celebrate the forty years of this cultural milestone from the 80s. «Pateando Piedras» has defined its era and the legacy that followed. This will be a unique opportunity for fans of Los Prisioneros and music lovers alike to gather and engage with those who were part of this history, as well as with researchers who have contributed to its understanding. It’s a must-attend event,» added the representatives from Clubdefans.
