A new study warns that school texts in Chile continue to reproduce sexist biases and an androcentric view of knowledge.

Students expressed their opposition to the government's budget cuts and the 'Protected Schools' initiative, calling for an urgent dialogue table.

Mario Aguilar, the national president of the teachers' union, raised concerns about the substantial reduction in budget allocated for infrastructure: "This alone demonstrates that this cut harms the vast majority of schools in Chile, which have very deteriorated facilities that have not received proper maintenance for a long time. What we need is more funding for infrastructure, not less as is currently happening," he stated.

High school students have raised their voices against the agenda of José Antonio Kast, expressing their opposition to the proposed "Protected Schools" law, which includes controversial measures such as checking students' backpacks while also addressing budget cuts to the Ministry of Education.

The rectory states that only 6% of the agreements from January are pending, and that the salaries for the first semester are being processed normally.

The Valdivia Court of Appeals denied the preventive detention sought by the Public Prosecutor's Office and Public Security against three students from Universidad Austral, simultaneously deflating the government's portrayal of the Lincolao Case as a "kidnapping."

Hacienda's cuts do not target excess, but rather the minimum floor that makes studying possible: school meals, support for public education, reintegration, and access to university are all under scrutiny.

The members of the Biochemistry Student Center at the Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh) have issued a statement refuting the claims of a 'kidnapping' involving Science Minister Ximena Lincolao, insisting instead that they are facing criminalization for engaging in peaceful protest against educational reforms.

"The School Feeding Program (PAE) is at risk of being eliminated, which provides many children and adolescents their most complete meal of the day," stated Teachers' College President Mario Aguilar, criticizing that "while President Kast invites his friends to gourmet lunches funded by taxpayers, he is aiming to take away food from children in schools."
