The withdrawal of the new Fishing Law cannot be seen as a mere administrative decision. What is being withdrawn is not just a project; it represents the loss of a chance to fully replace a law tainted by corruption with one built for the citizens. This distinction matters greatly, as in politics, managing an illegitimate legacy is different from daring to break with it.

Political scientist Navia elevates to "virtue" the repeal of laws, withdrawal of projects, and application of decrees as if they are an expansion of individual freedoms. This supposed virtue is, in fact, the method through which neoliberalism dismantles social protection frameworks without engaging in democratic debate.

It is time to take charge of the effects of a government with such characteristics. We know that behind a process of precarization comes a wave of privatization, which we cannot afford to let inch into our sector.

As Western powers, led by Washington, refine their hybrid warfare mechanisms, sanctions, and economic strangulation, popular forces cannot afford the luxury of sectarianism. The theoretical arsenal we have accumulated is vast and forms our primary foundation, but it must never become our prison.

The sector-wide collective bargaining project—allowing workers and employers within the same sector to agree on minimum standards regarding wages, productivity, and labor conditions—was a historical aspiration for the Central Unitaria de Trabajadores. However, under Boric's administration, the initiative advanced with a slowness that ultimately proved fatal. The incident involving the 1st Infantry Regiment 'Colorados de Bolivia' serves as a crude and ignorant blow to our historical memory. Watching them chant a submissive 'Good morning, Your Majesty' was a grotesque spectacle. One must ask President Rodrigo Paz and those young conscripts if they know where the blood they wear comes from.

Year after year, at the United Nations General Assembly, an overwhelming majority of countries vote for the lifting of the blockade, including Chile under various governments since the return to democracy, affirming that such unilateral measures do not contribute to solving global challenges or strengthening coexistence among nations.

The presentation of a city's keys is not a trivial gesture. Historically reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions to the city's cultural, social, or political development, it stands as an institutional gesture honoring legacies intertwined with the history and life of the city. In this respect, one must ask: What connection does María Corina Machado have with Santiago or Chile that justifies such an honor?

Gladys Marín was not one to seek a pat on the back from her adversaries. She understood that internationalist solidarity and resistance against imperialism were not seasonal options but rather the backbone of communist identity.
