On September 17, 1973, police officers from the Cobquecura Station stormed the home of José Gómez Velásquez, age 42, executing him and his 17-year-old son, José Domingo Gómez Concha, at point-blank range in front of their family. Following this, they threatened the wife, Aurora Concha Rivas, with death, forcing her to bury both within two hours and preventing any medical examination of the causes of death. The next day, under similar threats, the family was compelled to leave Cobquecura and relocate to Quirihue.
