The webinar linked Chile's salmon industry with Israeli companies and state agencies to foster technological alliances. The aim is to validate Israeli solutions in Chile, positioned as a 'natural laboratory.' This occurs amidst significant environmental and social scrutiny of salmon farming in Patagonia due to overproduction, ecosystem damage, and conflicts with communities, as well as ongoing criticisms of Israel related to actions in Gaza.

"The primary objective is for this document to circulate first in Chiloé and then in other spaces of the continent, to make visible the socio-environmental issues of the Chiloé territory, with its particularities and common elements to what happens in other places," explained members of the Assembly of Insular Women for Water (AMIPA), the authors of this initiative.

Chile is facing another catastrophe due to megafires in the south. They are demanding urgent change.

A massive, uncontrolled wildfire is ravaging Penco Lirquén, destroying the planned Parque para Penco and the last Queule forests, a threatened species. The community warns that the fire spread through the area targeted for the Aclara mining project amid an ongoing socio-environmental conflict.

Changa communities and fishermen's unions in Freirina have signed agreements to co-manage two Marine Coastal Spaces for Indigenous Peoples (ECMPO). This transparent dialogue-based process integrates fishermen into management, guarantees their rights, promotes sustainable development, countering criticism and establishing a new collaborative coastal governance model.

Communities accuse racism and irregularities in the CRUBC of Los Ríos for rejecting the Wadalafken ECMPO. They allege political criteria, manipulation of the Lafkenche Law, and a misinformation campaign. They call on Boric's Government to align its supportive statements on the Lafkenche Law with its actions.
