The union at BlueLink International Chile began a strike on Friday, accusing the company of refusing to implement labor improvements, including those mandated by law and without additional costs.

This initiative seeks to gather community opinions on proposals developed in various public, academic, and organizational forums for the modernization of Law 19,418, which regulates Neighborhood Boards and other community organizations.

Legislator Daniela Serrano emphasized the strategic importance District 12 will play in the upcoming presidential runoff between Jeannette Jara and José A. Kast: "Undoubtedly, this territory will be crucial for a second round that we will face with strong outreach, focused on advancing social rights against a far-right candidate who only signifies cuts and setbacks," the legislator reiterated.

The Congress is dominated by the right, who will comfortably secure majorities in the Chamber of Deputies, yet will encounter more resistance in the Senate. A neoliberal and security-focused agenda is likely to advance smoothly in the Congress, facing minimal opposition, including measures against migration and penal populism, along with tax cuts for businesses among other authoritarian neoliberal policies.

The elected legislator emphasized the necessity of uniting against José Antonio Kast's candidacy, stating: "What is at risk is democracy. José Antonio Kast represents everything Chile does not need: regressions in social rights and women's rights. José Antonio Kast is a danger, and this should unite and strengthen all democratic forces in the country," reiterated the senator elected in the Valparaíso Region with over 170,000 votes.
